Though
its postal address is North Uist,
Grimsay is actually a separate, quite small island, between North Uist
and Benbecula.
Ardnastruban House is a few hundred yards
off the North-South main road, alongside one of the two quiet lanes
that lead to the tiny, picturesque harbour of Kallin.
The owners, Margaret and Stewart Wiseman,
came to the area a few years ago and have established a good reputaton
ofr their hospitality. The guest accommodation is bright, comfortable
and modern, with a spacious lounge that overlooks the sea inlets
between Grimsay and Benbecula. Plenty of maps and books are
available and a peat-stove adds warmth if the evening is chilly.
Stewart is a part-time ghillie and, we're
told, only needs a little persuasion to accompany guests on fishing
trips, when he has the time available.
In terms of travelling time, Ardnastruban
House is roughly half way between the ferries at Eriskay and Berneray,
so it's a good base from which to explore the Uists in either direction

Suggestion
A
circular tour of Benbecula can include a visit to Nunton Steadings, a
renovated eighteenth century farm building, which houses tearooms, a
shop and bar. Exhibitions are mounted regularly.
The south
coast of Benbecula also has pleasant and extensive sandy beaches. ....
