Personally
run by the friendly owner,
Heather Morrison, Bonnieview is a working croft (farm) with a separate
guest wing. On the edge of a small village, the property stands back
from the road that links the island chain and you should expect a
peaceful night's sleep in your comfortable bedroom.
In the dining room, you may be lucky enough
to enjoy home grown pork sausages for breakfast.
In paddocks alongside the property, the
Morrisons rear turkeys and their friendly stag isa firm favourite with
children at the primary school next door. He's friendly and
intelligent, coming to call like a pet dog!
Bonnieview is centrally situated
for any of North Uist's attractions, with Benbecula's airport,
a few shops and the ferry terminals of Lochboisdale
and Berneray also within easy reach.
For your evening meal, Temple View Hotel and
the Carinish Inn are both within easy walking distance, should your
driver wish to enjoy a wee dram or two.
If you're planning a picnic lunch, the Hebridean Smokehouse is a short
distance north of Bonnieview, en route to beaches and the the
Balranald RSPB reserve. They are well known for their peat
smoked salmon, sea trout, scallops and home-made Hebridean
oatcakes.

Suggestion
Find
a safe parking place off the road near to one of the numerous causeways
in the area, sit quietly and see if you can spot an otter - or any
other of the many wildlife species that inhabit the islands.
Perhaps it's a good time to enjoy the picnic...
