opportunity to experience the hospitality for which the Hebrides (and
Hillcrest) is so well known.
On a steep hillside above the long sea inlet
of West Loch Tarbert, Hillcrest affords sea views from every guest
room. There are frequent, spectacular sunsets and wildlife is
practically on the doorstep.
The en-suite guest bedrooms are comfortable
and relaxing – you’re sure to feel at home in no

tray, though you’re likely to be greeted with a cuppa from
Ina’s pot!
Television and reading matter is provided in
the cosy lounge and the dining room has large windows overlooking the
sea
loch.
About 1.5 miles away, you will find
Harris’s main town, Tarbert, where there are a few local
shops, bank, good eating places and the Skye ferry.
The location os central for trips south to
the
beaches and also for excursions north towards Lewis.
Stornoway is
about 45 minutes drive.

Suggestion
For a change from driving, consider a trip on the local service
bus. Depending on the journey, Hebridean Transport buses vary
from full size coaches to minibuses and all are well kept. From the
stop in the car park by the Tourist Information Centre, you an catch a
service over the hills to Stornoway, along the ‘Golden
Road’ east coast route south to Rodel and Leverburgh, or past
the west coast beaches to Leverburgh.
