Leumadair
has stunning panoramic views over croft land to Loch Ceann Hulivag,
East Loch Roag and the enigmatic Callanish Stones.
There are just three letting bedrooms, all
with en suite facilities and one twin room is suitable for mobility
impaired guests. While we hope the sun shines every day of your
holiday, if you do suffer a soaking, you'll be glad of
the drying
facilities provided.
The guest house
faces across the croft to the main Callanish
Stones circle - an ancient monument of great interest and importance to
Lewis history and legend. The changing light provides a
limitless succession of new views toward the stones - with wonderful
sunset views to be photographed.
Two further stone circles are within walking
distance and other attractions within just a few minutes drive are the
Carloway Broch (fortress) ruins, the restored Garenin
blackhouse village, plus beaches at Dalmor and Dalbeg.
Drive to the west and you're in the wild
terrain of the Uig area, fringed by beaches of amazing soft white
shell-sand.
The owners work the adjoining croft and are
very aware of ecological concerns, so the Guest House is south
facing to maximise natural sunlight and other eco friendly measures are
in practice.
Evening meals are available at this property
- we can pre-book these for you.
The ferry port of Stornoway is about 20-25
minutes drive and Leverburgh about 90 minutes.
