This small, luxury
hotel has evolved from
what was originally a restaurant enterprise by its owners Isobel and
Alan Graham.
Isobel, is well known in Scotland
as a 'TV chef' and was part of the team that prepared the gala
dinner at the opening of the Scottish Parliament. She runs
the kitchen at the Orasay Inn with the assistance of a excellent
baker/sweet/sous chef.
The restaurant is ideally situated to take
advantage of the landscape, with large windows revealing the panoramic
view towards Loch Carnon and, on a clear day, the mountains of Skye.
Adjoining the restaurant is a comfortable lounge, with bar, where
guests can relax.
Hebridean Hopscotch guests are accommodated
in superior rooms, which have their own private deck - ideal for
peaceful relaxation, or to view passing wildlife. The
bedrooms are well appointed with TV, hospitality tray, phone and
ensuite
facilities.
Outside, the restaurant opens onto an
attractive decked area, with access to the lawned garden. Sheltered
from the prevailing wind direction, this area will often be a
pleasant sun-trap in summer.
A quote from ‘The Sunday
Times’ Travel Section, in an article on the Outer Hebrides,
reads, “Finally,
don’t forget to eat some seafood. The scallops, in
particular, are enormous and one of the best ways to enjoy them is as
part of a seafood platter at the Orasay Inn. Clean functional and home
to one of the best chefs on the islands”.

Suggestion
The tidal sea loch is only a couple of hundred yards away, accessible
across the croft at the rear of Orasay Inn. There are
numerous small islands and inlets in the loch, and there.
