 Centrally
placed for
touring Skye - to visit such attractions as the Cuillins, pictured
above.
Quiraing is personally
run by the friendly owner, Christine Macfarlane and
is situated just a short, mainly level stroll from the centre
of Portree.
The guest house is a comfortable
property, with well furnished bedrooms, all en-suite,
all
non-smoking and on the ground floor. All rooms are equipped with
central heating, colour TV, hospitality tray, hairdriers and fridges.
There is a private car park for guests to the rear of the
house.
Breakfast is taken in a the cosy dining room
and most guests
visit the nearby centre of Portree for their evening meal, where there
are numerous restaurants and
hotels from which to make your choice.
The main town of the Isle of Skye, Portree has local shopping
facilities, such as news, groceries and hardware, as well as good
quality gift shops. There are quite a number of walks that
can be
taken around the town and harbour, where you have a reasonable chance
of seeing seals, dolphins and maybe even otters.
Ferries to the Isle of Harris (Tarbert) are about 20 minutes drive and
the Skye bridge is around 40-50 minutes. The ferry to
Mallaig,
from Armadale, is about 40 miles distant.
