Situated within Lochmaddy, this
modern home is all on the one level with no steps to
negotiate. At the side of a fresh water loch, it offers
attractive and comfortable 4 star bed and breakfast accommodation.
Rushlee House has
three double guest rooms
all with shower en-suite, television/VCR, radio,
hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. There are drying
facilities for wet clothes and footwear, if you've been caught out
while walking or cycling.
Guests are invited to relax in the lounge in
which there is also tea/coffee making facilities - if you bring your
own wine etc., you're welcome to enjoy it in this lounge - perhaps
while viewing a spectacular sunset.
Full Scottish cooked or cold buffet style
breakfasts set all our guests ready for the adventures of the day.
The house is centrally heated with
thermostatic controls in each room. Rushlee House has magnificent views
of the surrounding hills to the south and the northwest.
There's an abundance of local
wildlife including
wild red deer, seals, otters, sea- and golden eagles,
plus many other
inland and coastal birds. The RSPB bird reserve at Balranald
is about
20 minutes drive and there are numerous lochs for
anglers.
For the ferry to Harris, Berneray
is about 9 miles away and the Eriskay-Barra ferry is under 2 hours
drive. Lochmaddy ferry terminal is moments away.
The ferry port of Stornoway is about 90
minutes drive and Leverburgh about 5 minutes.
