Making your accommodation choices 

The holiday accommodation links below are listed in order of price group and location, travelling from north to south on your Scottish island hopping holiday in the Western Isles - Outer Hebrides.  You are free to make up an itinerary that mixes price groups and we'll give you a holiday that's based on your choice - from bed and breakfast to luxury hotels - sometimes it's good to push the boat out for a night or two at a special location!  

You'll find accommodation in Isle of Lewis, Isle of Harris, Skye, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist and Barra. 

Price groups are not intended to indicate the level of facilities - they're just a convenient way to group properties of similar price together.  The Visit Scotland star rating, which you'll find on the detail pages of all those who are in the Visit Scotland system.  

The properties are shown in a north to south direction, in each price group, to help you plan a route.

We've created our own Google map so that you can see the location of all our accommodation, some of the food shops where you can stock up for a picnic, fuel filling stations and ferries.  Little by little, we'll add other helpful information to the map.

 Our Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are decided on the basis of guest feedback during 2009 and 2010 - in the Visit Scotland categories 'Bed and Breakfast', 'Guest House', 'Small Hotel or Inn' and 'Full Size Hotel'.

‘Select Collection’ accommodation is very individual, chosen because it offers something special.  It may be a beautiful room, an amazing location, fabulous food, a panoramic view or a combination of these pleasures.  Over three or four different locations you can enjoy all of these benefits.  The hotels and guest houses that are specific to the ‘Select Collection’ only are listed at the foot of the page, while others that participate in ‘Select Collection’ with specific, individual rooms that merit inclusion in these holidays, are also indicated by a symbol in the property’s normal price group.
