The Outer Hebrides..
Hebridean
Hopscotch
arranges Scottish island hopping holidays in the Outer Hebrides, a
string of captivatng islands that covers a south to north direction
spanning around 150 miles long and averaging perhaps 10 miles wide.
There are
over 60 islands with about 15 being inhabited.
Our most
popular Outer
Hebrides island hopping holidays cover the nine main islands and give
you the opportunity to make occasional diversions onto five other small
islands, connected by causeways.
Your holiday
here is arranged specially for you by advisors who actually live in
the Outer Hebrides and have an intimate knowledge of the
hotels, B&B (bed and breakfast) and guest house or inn
accommodation.
They also
know and regularly use the shops, Calmac ferries and visitor
attractions.
The
main islands of the Outer Hebrides are Lewis, Harris,
Berneray, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, Eriskay and Barra.
The smaller populated islands that your itinerary may include
Gt. Bernera, Scalpay, Flodda, Grimsay and Vatersay.
Although an
Inner Hebrides island, we include the Isle of Skye as an option within
our holiday itineraries, as it forms an interesting point of entry to
the Outer Hebrides, via the Calmac ferry from Uig to Tarbert.
You can also
take optional boat trips with various operators to the double World
Heritage site of the St Kilda archipelago, the Shiants, Mingulay, the
Monach isles, the Flannans, Scarp, Taransay and North Rona.
Although Hebridean Hopscotch
Holidays was initially established to provide car touring holiday
packages, we realise that many of our clients choose to see Scotland
differently, so have expanded our offers.
We now
include end-to-end bicycle touring, including bike hire, packages where
you can use public transport and, new for 2012, an 'Unwind in Nature'
holiday that's specially designed to offer an opportunity to slow down,
relax, de-stress and find inner peace.
