Bed and breakfast on the Isle of Barra with seaviews and wonderful sunsets

The village of Borve nestles between the hilly centre of Barra and the sandy beaches that border the Atlantic.  Croit na h-Aibhne is around a third of a mile from the shore and enjoys delightful views over the crofts to the sea.

Croit na h-Aibhne bed and breakfast was constructed around 2009 in this small, traditional crofting village and the name means ‘croft by the river’.  The house is exceptionally spacious and beautifully finished.

Outside, there’s a wooden deck that runs the entire length of the house where, when the weather suits, you can relax and enjoy the sea views.

The nearest restaurant/bar is at the Isle of Barra Beach hotel (a 20 minute walk/about 1 mile).  Shops and other restaurants are at Castlebay, about 3 miles away.

There are pleasant walks from this area into the hills of Barra, with spectacular panoramic views once you gain a little height.
