Brae Lea House – a peaceful retreat, but only just off the beaten track.
This large, comfortable house is situated away from the main road in a quiet location, within walking distance of a restaurant serving good evening meals and only a few minutes drive from other restaurants around the Lochboisdale area. If for any reason, you’re not travelling via Barra, this may be an excellent first or last accommodation for you.
Brae Lea House’s owners have travelled extensively and the items they have collected along the way provide an interesting collection of souvenirs, which will provide additional interest to meal times in the attractive dining room.
There is a spacious lounge in which guests can relax, read, watch TV or look out for passing wildlife. A well stocked, compact library is provided, also a small area where private telephone calls may be made (coin box phone).
Accommodation at Brae Lea House
There’s a choice of six comfortable double, twin and single guest rooms, all with en-suite, quality beds and hospitality tray. Two bedrooms are accessible by wheelchair.
Food and drink
For your evening meal, you can a stroll along a path over heathland form Brae Lea House to a nearby restaurant, or take a short drive to your choice of three local restaurants.
There’s a hearty Scottish breakfast, with lighter alternatives available.
“Very Enjoyable – Stayed for 1 night in a very comfortable spacious room, a pleasant residents lounge is available with good views towards Lochboisdale. Breakfast was good and hearty and the hospitality warm and welcoming. Good evening meals were available at the Lochboisdale Hotel which was only a 20 minute walk from the house. Recommended” – A TripAdvisor reviewer.
