Stornoway’s finest hotel
The Cabarfeidh Hotel is situated in a quiet, mainly residential area. Less than a mile from the centre of the town it’s just a short walk around the corner to the Western Isles Hospital, while Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and most other businesses are within 5 minutes drive. This comfortable four-star hotel is equally enjoyable for pleasure visits to the Outer Hebrides. The Cabarfeidh Hotel is one of just three in a Stornoway family owned and operated group – Cala Hotels.
We aim always to offer the special, warm hospitality for which our local people are famous – you’ll see it in the way we welcome and look after you throughout your entire stay in Stornoway. If there’s anything you need that we may be able to help with – just ask.
Our greatest strengths are our people – all committed to working hard to provide you with a truly enjoyable visit to Stornoway.
Cabarfeidh Hotel Accommodation
All of the 46 guest rooms at the Cabarfeidh Hotel have recently been completely remodeled to offer accommodation in Stornoway that has helped earn the first four-star award for a hotel in Stornoway. All have bath and shower, lift access to all floors, free wi-fi, and room service during lunch and dinner periods.
Knowing that the most important hotel accommodation requirement is a great sleep, our first priority has been to provide excellent beds – ours are large and comfy, with the smallest double being a Super-King (that’s almost 6 feet wide!) and the linking twins that we have in some rooms create a huge double that’s 6 foot 8 inches wide. If you have a preference, please discuss this with our advisor.
There are quality, colour co-ordinated fabrics in all the rooms and fitted contemporary bathrooms – so you can really settle down and make yourself at home.
Food and drink
Dining is a special pleasure in the highly praised Cleaver restaurant (formerly Solas), where the Cabarfeidh Hotel’ head chef’s classic French cuisine skills meld with Scottish contemporary cuisine to accentuate flavours from the best of local produce. The reception lounge, with its cosy open fire, is a pleasant area for informal meetings or a drink from the cocktail bar – which has an excellent selection of Scotch malt whiskies.
There is a spacious residents’ car park at the front of the hotel.
Convenient for town and touring
Outside you’re welcome to relax in the spacious gardens of the Cabarfeidh Hotel, cross the road to stroll around the several square miles of wooded parklands and golf course that surround Lews Castle. A fairly gentle stroll from the hotel, Stornoway town centre has a wide range of facilities, including quality independent shops, harbours, and a contemporary arts centre, An Lanntair.
“The staff is very friendly and polite. The room lavishly furnished. I had stayed with my wife and when we left, she wished we had spent our previous wedding anniversary in the hotel. Every penny spent in this hotel is worth it. We are certainly looking forward to going back again.” – A Google+ reviewer.
