In sight of the dramatic west coast of the Isle of Barra, Croit na h-Aibhne B&B will give you a taste of Outer Hebrides hospitality.
Bed and breakfast on the Isle of Barra with seaviews and wonderful sunsets.
The village of Borve nestles between the hilly centre of Barra and the sandy beaches that border the Atlantic. Croit na h-Aibhne is around a third of a mile from the shore and enjoys delightful views over the crofts to the sea. Constructed around 2009 and situated in this small, traditional crofting village, the name translates as ‘croft by the river’. The house is exceptionally spacious and beautifully finished.
Outside, there’s a wooden deck that runs the entire length of the house where, when the weather suits, you can relax and enjoy the sea views. The nearest restaurant/bar is at the Isle of Barra Beach hotel (a 20 minute walk/about 1 mile). Shops and other restaurants are at Castlebay, about a short drive away. There are pleasant walks from this area into the hills of Barra, with spectacular panoramic views. The wide sandy Tangasdale beach is a short walk and close to the Isle of Barra Beach Hotel, where you can get an evening meal (this must be booked in advance).
There are three comfortable en-suite guest rooms, including two doubles and one twin room. All three are large, well furnished, and have good quality bath or shower rooms. There is also a very comfortable lounge with television and tea/coffee making for guests to relax.
Food and Drink
A full Scottish breakfast is included in your stay and is served in the residents’ lounge. For evening meals the Isle of Barra Beach Hotel is less than a mile with more options available in Castlebay.
