Glenview is a superbly renovated, beautifully furnished self-catering cottage on a stunning site over one of the loveliest villages on the Isle of Lewis, with flexible accommodation for four people.
Glenview is a peaceful retreat in the countryside.
The property boasts a relaxing lounge, a media room, kitchen, bathroom and three bedrooms each which are appropriately named and beautifully furnished. The Clisham lounge is a tranquil sun room and the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring whether you decide to read, enjoy the views or finish your postcards. In contrast, the Snug is an up to date media room where you can relax by the fire and enjoy a lazy evening listening to music or watching Sky TV. The Snug opens onto a fantastic decking area where you can relax in the evening or enjoy your morning breakfast. There are picnic and barbecue areas in the garden-ground and a quality gas-fired barbecue apparatus with the necessary racks and kit.
There is plenty to do around the property and across the entire island. Stornoway , the main town on the island is only half an hour or so from Tolsta Chaolais and offers a variety of shops, amenities, eating-places and entertainment. There’s also a major sports-centre – with a fine swimming-pool – and the An Lanntair Arts Centre is well worth the diversion.
The nearest filling-stations, both besides licensed stores selling groceries and any basic necessities are at Leurbost to the south and Barvas to the north.
You might like to try Doune Braes Hotel which is only a five minute drive from Glenview and is open daily. If visiting the Garenin Blockhouse village make sure to sample the delicious food in their cafe and also put Pol’s Pantry on your list however keep in mind it is only on a Sunday. If you travel into Stornoway you can sample some delicious local cuisine at the Boatshed at the Royal Hotel or Solas at the Cabarfeidh.
