Langass Lodge – an exceptional hotel in North Uist
There are stunning views beyond the nearby stone circle, over Langass sea loch to Ben Eaval and the Minch beyond. Langass Lodge has very comfortable public areas, enjoys an excellent reputation for its cuisine, has a disabled bedroom and the owners are proud to be holders of the Gold Green Tourism Business Award.
Langass Lodge has an excellent reputation for cuisine and it’s essential that you confirm restaurant/bar meal reservations in advance.
This is a particularly attractive choice for guests with an interest in watching birds and other wildlife. If you are patient, there’s a good chance of seeing otters at the nearby loch and regular RSPB otter walks depart from Langass Lodge.
Langass Lodge is one of our northernmost hotels in the Uists, convenient for visits to the wonderful island of Berneray and the ferry to Leverburgh, as well as being only 10 minutes drive from Lochmaddy ferry port and 25 minutes from Benbecula airport.
Accommodation at Langass Lodge
Superior, modern ‘hillside’ rooms are accessed across a covered courtyard from the main hotel – Group 3 ‘Lodge’ rooms in the main building are also available.
Rooms in the Hillside development (shown on this page) are larger and more luxuriously appointed than the ‘lodge’ rooms in Group 3 . These superior rooms are located in a recently built wing of the hotel. They are accessed across a small, covered courtyard from the hotel reception area.
The Hillside rooms are in price group 5 and, without any additional charge, we also feature them in our Select Collection.
Langass Lodge has built a reputation for excellent food – this means that reservations are pretty much essential for the restaurant. To provide extra capacity, and an alternative for more budget conscious guests, the owners introduced bar meals, which may be taken in a delightful and spacious lounge with picture windows to the garden. The success of the bar meals has been such that you should also reserve a time for this option. We would normally suggest that you make your reservations a week or two in advance, but very often if you’ve made a last minute decision, you’ll get away with the day or morning before you wish to eat.
Specialities are fresh and local, including game and fish from the estate, Hebridean shellfish, plus freshly landed fish – vegetables and herbs are grown in the hotel’s gardens.
“Beautiful place to stay. All the staff were really welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the views over the loch are stunning. The food in the restaurant and bar is amazing and all home cooked. Look forward to returning again in the future. Thanks to everyone.” – A TripAdvisor reviewer.
