Centrally located in Achmore on the Isle of Lewis, this B&B is an ideal stop off for those travelling through the Isles of Lewis and Harris. Also ideally situated for cyclists and walkers following the Hebridean Way between Tarbert and Callanish.
Situated in the rural village of Achmore, Westend B&B has stunning views overlooking the Harris hills and the many lochs dotted about the moorland. The area boasts spectacular sceneries, lochs, mountains & beaches, ideal for walking, bird watching, fishing & surfing. Magaidh will give you the warmest of welcomes and offers true Hebridean hospitality.
There is so much to see and do in the area, which is perfect for exploring the area of Uig and Bernera with it’s many beaches and only 6 miles from the world renowned Callanish Standing Stones.
Accommodation
Westend B&B offers double and twin rooms, all with a shared private bath and shower room, not en-suite. Tea and coffee making facilities along with TV and free wifi are available.
Food and Drink
Magaidh provides a generous continental breakfast, with eggs from the chickens you will see on the croft. There is a kitchen available for guests’ use, should they wish to cook for themselves or have a takeaway. Evening meals are available for walkers and cyclists only and must be pre-booked in advance.
Closeby is Crust, a takeaway pizza hut, which is very popular with locals and visitors and a little further along the road is Lochs Services, serving takeaway food. Doune Braes Hotel, serving dinner, is just 15 mins along the road and there are a variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs in Stornoway.
“We had such a comfortable stay in this B&B! Lovely views, kind hosts, a tidy room and a neat bathroom that was well stocked with soaps. The breakfast options that were available in our room were good. We had access to a kitchen and also had a small fridge and toaster in our room. The room was very cozy with a comfy bed. We also liked the cattle that was walking on the fields around the house. Really recommend staying here!”
